Dear Family,
Mission NewsThe Sunday evening before transfers there is a Come unto Christ Devotional. There are 4 recent converts that tell their conversion stories. Missionaries sing and the President and his wife speak. This meeting is usually very good, but this Sunday it was great. The speakers were very good speakers and their humility brought a wonderful spirit into the meeting.
This was transfer week and everything went very smoothly. As always there were a few little hiccups, but these were easily worked around. On Monday the new missionaries arrived, we had dinner with 16 of them and we took 8 Sister missionaries to the Hotel and were home at 8:30 which included a stop at Walmart. We have never been home that early before. We are usually home around 11:00.
Every transfer is different because the number of missionaries coming and going are different. The ratio of elders to sisters differs as well. So the number of vehicle and drivers varies too. Then TIWI card and keys need to be exchanged. It really takes some planning.
On Wednesday after noon I was sick with either a bad cold or the flu. I persuaded Mom to leave early. Thursday I felt bad and slept most of the day. Friday I went into the office in the afternoon, but we again left a little early. Saturday Mom was sick too. We did nothing all day except I did a little grocery shopping in the evening. Today, Sunday, we slept in and did not feel that we should share what we have with the Wakefield Ward. We slept a lot today.
Fun Stuff
Being sick is not fun. However, I did manage to stay awake long enough to read President Nelson’s biography “Insights” written by Sheri Dew. President Nelson is an amazing man and has had profound miracles in his life. The book is well written and well worth the time to read it.
WES NewsNot much new.
Family NewsOlivia is going to have her tonsils removed on Wednesday with the hope that she will be able to sleep better.
Amanda is giving a talk today in Sacrament Meeting as part of ward conference. In their ward the RS President sits on the stand with the bishopric in regular sacrament meetings.
Lydia is sleeping a lot and the big sisters like holding her. All four girls are doing fine. Keri is a bit sleep deprived but that comes with the territory.
Chelsea is moving to a bigger house with here roommates. She is looking to buy a place of her own in a few months.
She had her parent/teacher conferences this week and guess what? The parents think Chelsea is doing great.
Brynn went on an overnight adventure with her class. I think they went to Tallahassee. Kate and Anna went on an overnighter to St. Augustine. Tyler is really enjoying basketball. Kate played the piano for the primary children in sacrament meeting. “I wonder when he comes again” She played beautifully.
Last weekend Kent and Lindsey went to Logan for the blessing of a nephew or niece. I think Lindsey is enjoying school even though Kent is a bit of a distraction.
Love you all,
Dad
